What’s the single, most important component of our advocacy efforts? You! You are the tech creators and entrepreneurs that form a critical backbone to support our economy and job creation. Yet despite that essential role, many SMBs find themselves searching for strategies that lead to growth and success in an environment of lessened resources and challenging policy and regulatory efforts. You need a voice.

The first step to finding that voice is soaking up all you can at ChannelCon, July 29 to 31, in Orlando, FL. While we know your schedule is booked with community meetings, networking events and educational sessions, we urge you to take the time to learn about TechVoice – a partnership of CompTIA, TECNA and regional technology associations. TechVoice is your voice. In fact, collectively, TechVoice represents thousands of technology companies across the country employing millions of workers – uniting as one strong voice for the IT industry.

We also know that policy developments change daily and sometimes trying to get to the root of an issue can be difficult and time consuming. Think of TechVoice as your tool to quickly and comprehensively understand policy developments at the federal and state levels. It’s our job to track and monitor developments and pass on the most relevant information on to you. But TechVoice is more than just a means to understanding what’s happening on Captiol Hill – it’s a way to do something about it!

Getting involved has never been easier. Stop by the TechVoice reception on Tuesday, July 30, at 7:00 p.m. to chat with your peers and learn about our regional TechVoice chapters. These groups are meeting regularly all over the country to discuss important issues and lend their voice to support important state legislation, as well as federal policies.

Bring your business card! We’ll be holding a raffle for a chance to win round-trip airfare, an extra hotel night and a restaurant voucher for the 2014 TechVoice D.C. Fly-In – details to come soon.

We also hope to see you at the Public Policy Committee meeting on Wednesday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. to learn more about what’s on the horizon and how the IT industry is advocating for your best interests. You do not have to be a part of the committee to attend any committee meeting at ChannelCon – so head on over and meet the people standing up for your business in Washington, D.C.

There’s still time – register today for CompTIA ChannelCon. CompTIA vendor and distributor members attend at no cost. See you in Orlando!
