I have been on the lookout for ways I can add value to our team and organization and think my next step should be getting certified in CompTIA A+. I’ve read that CompTIA designed their content and exams not just to help people like me pass my exam, but to help us contribute to our organization through practical and hands-on skills.
Here’s what I’ve learned about the certification:
CompTIA A+ is the industry standard for launching IT careers into today’s digital world and is trusted by employers to identify the go-to person in end point management & technical support roles. A+ is the only industry recognized credential with performance-based items to prove pros can think on their feet to perform critical IT support tasks in the moment.
I have found a program that would allow me to learn everything I need to know for the certification in 20 days, for 3 hours per day, in a virtual classroom with a live instructor. I will be able to interact with my instructor and fellow classmates, just as I would in in-person training, but won’t need to travel or pay for a more expensive classroom training option. The cost is $3,999 which includes the training, the CompTIA ebook, CompTIA Labs, CertMaster Practice, the exam voucher and a retake if I don’t pass the first time (but I will!)
I think this would be great not just for my development but for our team as a whole. I’d love to talk with you more about this in our next 1×1 meeting.
