Downers Grove, Ill. – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association and the leading provider of vendor-neutral skills certification for information technology (IT) professionals, today issued a call for beta testers for a new version of its CompTIA Cloud+ exam.
The CompTIA Cloud+ beta exam (CV0-002) released today tests candidates on their understanding of how to incorporate and manage cloud technologies as part of broader IT systems operations.
“The number of organizations that depend on cloud-based solutions to run mission critical systems continues to grow,” said James Stanger, chief technology evangelist for CompTIA. “But cloud computing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Hybrid and multi-cloud deployments are the norm as the cloud is an increasingly important component in broader IT systems.”
To pass the CompTIA Cloud+ beta exam candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to integrate cloud solutions with exiting technology systems in a way that meets specific business needs, delivers maximum benefits and works in a variety of different industries.
“The content of the new beta exam reflects the collective wisdom of the industry,” Stanger noted. “CompTIA Cloud+ is the only vendor-neutral, performance-based certification that validates the cloud computing skills needed to meet an organization’s IT infrastructure requirements.”
Candidates for the CompTIA Cloud+ beta exam should have two to three years of on-the-job experience in networking, storage or IT data center administration as a systems administrator, systems engineer or related position. It’s also recommended, though not required, that candidates hold CompTIA Network+ and/or Server+ certifications.
CompTIA Cloud+ was introduced in 2013. Since than more than 4,500 individuals have earned the credential. CompTIA Cloud+ is globally recognized and accredited and is compliant with the ISO/IEC 17024 standards which govern personnel certification programs.
The updated version of the CompTIA Cloud+ exam is scheduled to be released during the first quarter of 2018.
