Five scholarships will be awarded to student members seeking careers in tech
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – Applications are closing soon for the latest round of Aspiring Tech Pro Scholarships awarded by CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the global technology industry and workforce.
CompTIA will award $2,000 scholarships to each of five paid student members of the association who are pursuing careers in technology.
“All indicators suggest that there is a bright future ahead for aspiring technologists, innovators and entrepreneurs,” said Kelly Ricker, executive vice president for events and education at CompTIA. “Our student members are on their way to joining the community of technology professionals. We’re pleased to provide some of them with an added measure of encouragement, incentive and support as they pursue their career dreams.”
Tech employment across the United States is forecast to increase by 245,000 jobs this year, with 48 states expected to add new tech workers, according to CompTIA’s Cyberstates 2021™ report. New hiring for positions in cybersecurity, data scientists, software developers and IT user support are expected to drive much of the anticipated growth.
Applicants for the CompTIA Aspiring Tech Pro Scholarships will be evaluated on their contributions to the success of their CompTIA student chapter, their local IT community and/or their commitment to making a lasting and valuable impact on their school’s technology program or the IT Industry. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, with five students chosen to receive scholarships.
Nominees must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university, trade or technical school, and be full paid members of CompTIA’s student program. Scholarships may be applied to the cost of each student’s education, or any of CompTIA’s 13 professionals certifications and related training products.
Qualified students may apply for a 2021 CompTIA Aspiring Tech Pro Scholarship here. The application deadline is April 30, 2021.
