Introducing CompTIA CertMaster Learn for Security+

Aug 16, 2018

Comprehensive self-paced training program prepares learners for leading cybersecurity credential

Downers Grove, Ill. – CompTIA, the world’s leading technology association, today announced the availability of a new self-paced training option for technology professionals interested in earning one of its core cybersecurity credentials.

CompTIA CertMaster Learn for Security+ (SY0-501) is a comprehensive online training environment that delivers an engaging, interactive learning experience.

“All of the content within CertMaster Learn is aligned with the specific objectives of the CompTIA Security+ exam; and is optimized for digital delivery to provide an engaging and interactive learning experience,” said Thomas Reilly, vice president, CompTIA Learning.  “Among the unique features of CertMaster Learn is that it delivers a customizable learning plan to fit the needs and study preferences of each individual.”

CertMaster Learn for Security+ includes 24 self-paced lessons, each featuring instructional content, corresponding videos and flashcards to review terms, definitions and acronyms. Along the way learners can test their knowledge of key concepts by answering more than 400 multiple choice questions, with extensive feedback included in each answer.

Each of the 24 lessons is also accompanied by an interactive performance-based question, requiring the learner to apply the knowledge they’ve gained in a scenario based on the real-world cybersecurity environment.

“We’ve also built in robust analytics to help the learner assess their strengths and weaknesses as they progress through the course,” Reilly said. “This includes a dashboard to measure progress through the course; keep track of average scores on assessments; and assess their percentile rank relative to other CertMaster Learn users.”

The course concludes with a 90-minute, 90-question timed assessment that synthesizes all course content and provides the learner with an indicator of readiness for the exam.

CompTIA CertMaster Learn for Security+ was developed in collaboration with BenchPrep, a Chicago-based company that has helped more than three million learners and is at the forefront of technological innovation and improving learning outcomes.

Additional CertMaster Learn products for other CompTIA certifications – including Network+, PenTest+ and IT Fundamentals are due to be released in the coming months.
