LONDON – The National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG) is pleased to announce CompTIA, the Computing Technology Industry Association, has joined its ranks as a National Ambassador.
Founded over 40 years ago and headquartered in the US, CompTIA is a world-leading information technology certification and training body. With over 2,000 member companies worldwide, CompTIA is helping to develop a highly skilled technology workforce and promote growth across the industry. The organisation has awarded over three million certifications globally in areas including cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing and technical support.
In taking up this new role – announced during Cyber Security Awareness Month – CompTIA joins a leading Steering Group which includes Aviva, CGI, Chainalysis, HP, ISC2, Mastercard, Microsoft, NatWest Group, Resilience, SANS Institute, SAS, Sir Robert McAlpine, The Very Group and Trustify.
NCRCG forms part of the Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) network alongside nine regional CRCs which, through Cyber PATH – an elite talent pipeline for university students – deliver high-quality and tailored cyber resilience services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in their localities. With the organisation’s extensive experience in growing the technology workforce, CompTIA will lend invaluable expertise in helping to progress and strengthen the Cyber PATH programme.
Wayne Selk, Vice President of Cybersecurity Programs at CompTIA and Executive Director of the CompTIA Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO), said:
“Becoming an NCRCG National Ambassador is an important and significant expansion of CompTIA’s commitment to robust cybersecurity practices. As cyber attacks grow in frequency, maliciousness and sophistication, our strongest defence is a collective, collaborative approach involving government, law enforcement, academia and, led by the technology industry, the private sector.”
Detective Superintendent Ian Kirby, CEO at NCRCG, said:
“Embedding cyber resilience across the UK economy isn’t something any one organisation can achieve alone which is why NCRCG and the wider CRC network is built on partnerships, including with government, policing, academia and, importantly, our National Ambassadors. We are therefore so pleased to welcome CompTIA on board so that we can extend our scope of collaboration further and, with their insights, continue to drive our mission forward at pace.”
About NCRCG
Established in 2021, the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG) is a strategic collaboration between the Home Office, policing, National Ambassador partners and academia to strengthen cyber resilience across the nation’s small and medium-sized enterprise community. Key to NCRCG’s reach are nine cyber resilience centres which operate across England and Wales to provide affordable, high-quality cyber resilience services to local organisations. These services are delivered by NCRCG’s Cyber PATH student team, under the supervision of cyber security practitioners. NCRCG’s National Ambassador programme is a platform through which the nation’s large organisations can work with us to lead the charge against cyber crime.
