eLearners in 29 countries benefit from free training offered by leading technology industry association
Downers Grove, Ill. – More than 36,500 people in 29 countries have enhanced their understanding of technology through a free eLearning course offered by CompTIA, the leading nonprofit association for the global technology industry.
CompTIA and its industry partner BenchPrep offered free access to the CertMaster Learn eLearning course for CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+).
More than 36,500 people took part in the eLearning course, which was available from mid-March through the end of May.
eLearners were about evenly divided between people living in the United States and citizens of other countries, from Australia, Bangladesh, Botswana and Brazil to Singapore, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
Students accounted for about 30% of the audience. Adult eLearners came from a variety of occupational backgrounds, including food service, retail and transportation.
“We’re heartened that so many people chose to use their unexpected time away from the classroom or the workplace to expand their understanding of technology,” said Kelly Ricker, executive vice president for events and education at CompTIA. “We hope that many of them will use this as a stepping-stone, whether that means exploring new career opportunities in the technology field or using their newly-acquired knowledge on the job and at home.”
