Sep 26, 2018

WASHINGTON — CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global technology industry, released the following statement from CompTIA Executive Vice President for Public Advocacy Elizabeth Hyman regarding the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee approval of the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act.

“We applaud the efforts of Sen. Rob Portman and Sen. Claire McCaskill in advancing the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (21st Century IDEA), and we commend the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee for approving this legislation on a bipartisan basis.

“This measure will go a long way toward bringing our federal government services into the digital age and will enhance Americans’ experience in interacting with government.

“The bill will help modernize federal agency websites, support the increasing use of mobile devices, begin to transition agencies away from paper-based forms, and leverage electronic signatures in a way that will facilitate a streamlined digital experience for citizens. The legislation also calls for leveraging emerging tech to enhance the citizen experience, including the utilization of cutting edge data analytics.

“CompTIA looks forward to continuing to support this bill as it moves through the legislative process.”
