Gift will help middle school students unlock their potential in technology and grow the pipeline of tech talent
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. - CompTIA Spark, the nonprofit and social impact arm of CompTIA, has received a generous gift from TEKsystems, a global provider of technology, business and talent solutions for more than 80% of the Fortune 500, to help more young people explore opportunities in technology and widen the pipeline of tech talent.
The gift will support CompTIA Spark’s mission to ignite young people’s interest, confidence and skills in technology. Through a wide range of CompTIA Spark content and curriculum, students can gain the digital fluency needed to thrive in today’s tech-driven world. The investment into the future of technology will contribute to overall funding and initiatives and continue to create opportunities for younger generations.
“Our support of CompTIA Spark allows us to make an impact earlier in a young person’s education and create a tech talent pipeline at the middle school level,” said Terry West, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager for TEKsystems and CompTIA Spark Advisory Board member. “We believe middle school is a critical time to engage students and help them better understand the opportunities that await them with a career in technology.”
“We are extremely grateful for this generous gift from TEKsystems to help more young people get inspired by technology and explore the opportunities available to them,” said Charles Eaton, CEO, CompTIA Spark. “This partnership will help us continue to provide meaningful and engaging educational experiences in the tech space for years to come.”
The gift from TEKsystems will support CompTIA Spark’s TechGirlz program, which offers hands-on workshops for middle school girls to discover how technology can empower their future careers. Additionally, the CompTIA Spark middle school tech education program broadens the availability of high-quality tech education, builds confidence and cultivates durable skills in the classroom.
