LONDON – CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) industry and workforce, was honoured at the 2022 SC Awards Europe where CompTIA’s Cyber Ready programme was named Best Professional Training or Certification Programme.
The SC Awards Europe, which is run by SC Media UK and judged by a panel of leading industry professionals, recognise cyber security products and services that continue to stand out from the crowd, exceeding customer expectations to help defeat imminent threats and attacks.
Cyber Ready was described by the judges as a “very strong offering” that “clearly highlights how it differentiates itself from competitors with its focus on a diverse pool of candidates.” In their comments, the judges added, “This initiative creates meaningful impact in society and deserves a recognition."
Organisations in the U.K. need approximately 21,000 new cyber security professionals each year, according to estimates from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
“This is a tremendous honour for Cyber Ready and CompTIA,” said Zeshan Sattar, director, learning and skills certification, CompTIA. “Our goal is to deliver the best training and certifications and to introduce more people to rewarding cyber security and IT careers while helping organisations of all sizes strengthen their cyber security efforts.”
Cyber Ready is a six-month programme designed to give participants access to the latest industry-standard content on cyber security, via on-demand videos, virtual labs and adaptive questions to build their cyber skills. The learning is supervised by trainers with real world experience in cyber security.
Cyber Ready participants can earn two professional certifications from CompTIA.
A total of 120 people have completed the Cyber Ready programme with more participants currently working their ways through the programme.
