Statement in Support of the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 (FOSTA)

Dec 12, 2017

Washington, DC – CompTIA’s Executive Vice President for Public Advocacy, Elizabeth Hyman, issued the following statement in support of the Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 (FOSTA):

“CompTIA is committed to ending online sex trafficking and supports FOSTA as a means to that end. FOSTA will make it easier for law enforcement to go after bad actors while maintaining the ability of web platforms to do business online. We’d like to thank Congresswoman Wagner for introducing this bipartisan bill in April, and for the hard work of Reps. Goodlatte, Sensenbrenner, Nadler, and Jackson-Lee on the Judiciary Committee in helping to craft this important piece of legislation. CompTIA looks forward to working with the House and Senate to help pass FOSTA into law.”
