Downers Grove, Ill. – CompTIA, the leading trade association for the global information technology (IT) industry, announced today it has cancelled its annual Communities & Councils Forum 2020. The meeting was scheduled for March 16-18 in Chicago.
“After careful consideration of the growing concerns around COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to take precautionary measures and cancel the in-person meeting,” said Nancy Hammervik, CompTIA’s executive vice president for industry relations.
“With all of the uncertainty and unknowns for travelers and those participating in large gatherings, we have decided that caution is the best choice for everyone,” she added. “Our top priority is the health and well-being of our members, employees and the community at large.”
In place of the in-person meeting, CompTIA will hold a series of virtual events, beginning on Tuesday, March 17, from its headquarters in Downers Grove, Ill. Much of the educational content and industry insights planned for the Communities & Councils Forum will be presented in this setting. Additional virtual meetings featuring CompTIA’s Advisory Councils and Communities are in the planning stages, with more details available in the coming days.
