Responsibility of Educators

Educators, including teachers, trainers, and mentors, are strongly discouraged from providing exam dump materials—unauthorized content containing actual exam questions and answers in any form—to students as study aids or instructional material. The use and distribution of such materials undermine the value of CompTIA certifications and violate our ethical standards. It is the responsibility of educators to provide high-quality, ethical training to students, ensuring that all study materials are legitimate and authorized. To fulfill these responsibilities, CompTIA strongly recommends educators adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Ensure that all study materials provided to students are authorized and do not include unauthorized training materials, exam dumps, or brain dumps.
  • Educate students on the importance of using legitimate study resources.
  • Uphold the ethical standards set forth by CompTIA in all training activities.

Consequences:

  • Educators, who are CompTIA certified, and are found distributing or endorsing the use of exam dump materials will face disciplinary actions as defined in the Candidate Agreement, including the potential revocation of their CompTIA certifications and further suspension or permanent ban from testing.
  • Students who use exam dump materials may also risk losing their certifications and future eligibility for taking CompTIA exams.

Reporting:

If you suspect that exam dump materials have been distributed, or if a student reports such an incident, it is your duty to report it immediately to CompTIA’s hotline. Students who suspect they have been provided with exam dump materials are also encouraged to report the incident. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and promptly investigated to protect the integrity of our certification process.
